Generation Morgantown Canine Classic 5K

 This 5K run/walk is unique to Morgantown because race participants can compete with their canine companions. The Canine Classic 5K is a charity event that raises awareness and support for local organizations who work to increase canine welfare and services around the area. Proceeds from this race will be donated to the Morgantown Police K-9 Unit and Mon River Trails Conservancy (MRTC). Active K-9 units offer our community additional protection and our police extra support. The MRTC develops and manages the Mon River and Decker’s Creek Rail-Trails.

 Schedule

•8:15am Registration Ends
•8:30am 5k Run/Walk Begins
•10:00am Award Ceremony

Awards

Overall top three male finishers with dogs. Overall top three female finishers with dogs.

Refreshments

Water stations at start, halfway point and finish. Water will be provided for pets. Water, fruit, bagels, and dog biscuits will be provided at the finish line.

Course

The out and back course will be run/walked on the Deckers Creek Rail Trail starting at the Hazel Ruby-McQuain Amphitheatre. The trail is paved and completely flat. The turn-around will be at Ralph’s Beverage Distributors.
